Team Rubicon Clearing Canyon Creeks
October 14 - 18

Team Rubicon is bringing a team of 20 members to our canyons to clear brush from the creeks in anticipation of high rains this year due to El Nino. They are working with OC Public works to clear creek sides adjacent to bridges and, with the permission of landowners, along other areas of the creeks. The team will be here from Wednesday, October 14th through Sunday, October 18th. Team Rubicon already has enough work for the size of their team and the time that they will be here -- unfortunately, this means that they will not be able to take new requests from residents. However, as part of this project, they plan to have a chipper at the SMRPD Riviera where residents can drop off brush!


Volunteer to Help Clear the Creeks

Team Rubicon welcomes community members (white shirts; you will provided with one) to work along with them (they wear gray shirts) on this project. If you have a truck that you can use to haul brush from the worksites to the Riviera (across from the Silverado Community Center) that would be especially helpful. To volunteer, just drop in at the Hunt room of the Silverado Community Center any time after 8 AM, October 14-18. The Team Rubicon operations people there will direct you to a location where you can be useful.

Support Team Rubicon with Food

Team Rubicon members are volunteering their time for this work! SMRPD is providing space in the community centers for billeting. Community members can help by volunteering to prepare dinners or breakfasts.
